Bryan Bowers concert at Traditions
Last night, we went to a Bryan Bowers concert at Traditions Cafe. I've had a couple of his CDs since I first saw him on The Nashville Network back in the 80s. Up until that point, my only experience with autoharps had been elementary school teachers using them as an easy instrument to play. Bryan on the other hand is a true artist!
We saw him for the first time last year, at a sold out show. Not wanting to miss my chance, I bought tickets way back in the summer, though I needn't have worried. Usually there are around 100 seats set up for the concerts, but this time they didn't even bother moving any tables out of the way as there were only about 30 of us. All those people that didn't show up, really missed out. Not only was the show up to the same standard as last year, but Bryan introduced his new fiancee and they did three songs as their first public duet. Their voices formed a wonderful old timey harmony. I'm really looking forward to their show next year, and hoping for a release of duets.
As I said, I already have several of Bryan's CDs, but I like to make sure that I buy at least one CD directly from the artist each time the perform, even if they are more expensive. This time I bought Friend for Life. I'll post a review after I've listened to it some more, but so far it is living up to my expectations.
